Carbon Cycling in Coastal Ecosystems

Coastal habitats play an important role in global carbon cycling, yet the pathways through which carbon moves differ markedly among habitat types.

Using food-web models and Linear Inverse Modelling (LIM), we quantify carbon flows through seagrass meadows, bladderwrack beds, blue mussel reefs, and other coastal habitats to understand how biodiversity and food web structure influences carbon processing and ecosystem functioning.
